Total running distance
TCS Lidingöloppet is not only the world's largest cross-country race - it is also a race which goes several laps around the world! During this year's event, the participants ran a total of 226,662 kilometers - corresponding to 5.6 laps around the globe (which has a circumference of about 4,000 kilometres).
Since the first race in 1964, all TCS Lidingöloppet participants have ran a total of 19,212,598 kilometers, which corresponds to 480.3 laps around the world!
Total time elapsed
This year's TCS Lidingöloppet was arranged over ten days, and during that time the participants ran, rolled and walked for a total time of two years, 10 months and 23 days!
During the 57 years that TCS Lidingöloppet has been arranged, participants have jointly moved over a total period of 201 years, three months and 24 days!
Total transpiration during the race
Through sweat, the average runner loses about 8 hectogram of body weight over 10K. This means that the weight corresponding to 287 participants disapeared during TCS Lidingöloppet 2021, only through sweating!
In total, the weight corresponding to 22,221 participants has disappeared through sweat since the first race was arranged in 1964.
Amounts of liquid
To compensate for all the fluid lost through sweating, an assortment of drinks are provided during TCS Lidingöloppet. In particular, during this year's event, the participants together drank around 12,000 liters of water, 12,000 liters of sports drinks, 8250 cups of coffee (825 liters), 1152 liters of cola and 450 liters of fruit drink!
Amounts of bananas, buns and cucumbers
At the liquid stations and in the finish area at Grönsta, one can also find snacks. In addition to dextrosol and bread, 10,492 bananas, 37,800 buns and 408 kilos of pickles were distributed during the race this year!
