The term "distance race" has aquired a new meaning through the pandemic. What used to mean "a race over a long distance" is now interpreted as "participating in a race far from the event itself". As TCS Lidingöloppet is preparing for the running festicities this autumn, we are doing it with the intention to blur the latter meaning. With the help of technology, we are looking forward to a race event on Lidingö which feels equally close and accessible to all - no matter where you are in the world.

During the Cross Country Conference 2021
In connection with the opening of TCS Lidingöloppet on the 24th of September, the traditional Cross Country Conference is arranged - a seminar for and with coaches, researchers and athletes involved in endurance sports! The seminar is digital and free of charge and is arranged by TCS Lidingöloppet in collaboration with Riksidrottsförbundet and "Prestationscentrum medel-lång" in the Swedish Athletics Federation and with the support of Sundström Safety.

During the TCS Lidingöloppet inauguration ceremony
This year, for the first time ever, we have the opportunity to welcome the general public to the traditional inauguration ceremony of TCS Lidingöloppet, which will be broadcasted via video link. The inauguration will be attended by well-known profiles in politics, sports and culture, and during the ceremony, the coronation of this year's wreath carriers will be carried out.

During the race
TCS Lidingöloppet's reporter team will share all races and activities live during the entire TCS Lidingöloppsveckan (the TCS Lidingöloppet Week). In this way, you can follow the races and see interviews live - from the start, via the energy stations, through the trails, up Abborrbacken, along the final stretch and in the finish areas at Grönsta. Our elite running team will also broadcast live from the elite runners' pursuit for the top positions.
