This year's TCS Lidingöloppet Cross Country Conference focused on "durable" endurance training. Under the theme "Train sustainably - yes, but how?", coaches and elite athletes shared their individual experiences and success stories regarding injury-free and mentally sustainable training at a high level and over long time-periods.
Tove Alexandersson, world champion in orienteering, ski orienteering and sky running, for example described the benefits of training more than one sport, and how this has helped her to build a dynamic fitness base. Frida Karlsson's coach Per Nilsson further shared how technological advances has made it possible to adapt the training to the athlete's fitness and capabilities. Nils van der Poel's coach Johan Röjler also described the importance of scaling back and focusing on the essentials.
Cross Country Conference 2022 was moderated by Lorenzo Nesi. The whole seminar is two hours long and you can watch and share it via the link above.
The seminar was arranged on Friday, the 23rd of September between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, in collaboration with RF, Middle/Long Distance Performance Center, the Swedish Athletics Federation and Sundström Safety.
