Few have probably missed that the Swedish government has recently decided to lift the restrictions on public gathering during recreational races on the 29th of September. Many participants are now wondering how this will affect TCS Lidingöloppsveckan (the TCS Lidingöloppet Week), as this will occur in the middle of the event.
All races arranged during the first weekend, the 24-26 of September, will be organized in accordance with current restrictions, ie with only 900 participants in the start- and finish areas at the same time. No spectators will be allowed in the start- and finish areas during this time. We will not move these races to another weekend (when the restrictions have been lifted), but will arrange them in accordance with what we have planned for many months.
The reason why we will not move the races is that many of participants have already arranged travel, accommodation and other logistics for the race. In addition, we as organizers cannot reschedule the events with such a short lead time.
All races arranged during the second weekend, the 2-3 of October, will be organized with no restrictions for participants and spectators. However, we will continue to show consideration for each other by for example maintaining social distance. Spectators are welcome so the start- and finish areas this weekend. We will keep the same structure for the race events as we have planned for, with for example fewer participants in each wave start than normal.
At the beginning of this week, you will have received your start certificate in your mailbox. It contains your start time as well as other useful, necessary, and inspiring information.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the starting line during this year's TCS Lidingöloppet!
